Publications

Resources for Indonesian language teachers are becoming more readily available, however, there still appears to be a lack of good quick activities and resources for the primary sector. Many of the books listed I have found to be useful as teacher references.

Selamat Pagi, Bu: Indonesian for Junior Primary by Carmyl Winkler. This is a very easy to follow book with lots of activity ideas for the junior primary levels which can easily be adapted for upper primary and lower secondary. It also has an excellent music audio tape with lyrics and music on one side and music on the other. It is available from Nusantara.

Ke Sekolah

by John Turner.

This is a great little song book for primary students with 10 very easy to learn songs sung in Indonesian. The lyrics are written in both Indonesian and English. To order email Stuart Thorpe
